Copo has been all the rage in the Inner West this past year. Not only were they awared Best Breakfast in Sydney in Everyday Eats 2012, but the cafe has also been well received by food critics and bloggers alike.

There's just so much to love here! The coffee is great and the kitchen is headed up by ex Rockpool Bar & Grill chef, Brock Coffey. There isn't one thing on the menu I don't want to try! It's taken me a little while to dine here but I'm so loving everything about it!

We arrive during the peak of breakfast on a Sunday morning and there's a small queue that stretches out the door. The wait is only about 15 minutes - although it is with a compromise. We've been offered a table upstairs in the outdoor terrace. In the cold. With minimal cover from the chilly breeze. There's heating but it's barely sufficient.

Nonetheless, we're determined to make the most of this relaxing Sunday brunch.

It appears the cold hasn't been too kind on the herb garden either as it was looking a bit bare. Come summertime, I think this place would be even busier!

To start, we have coffees. I'm going through a cappuccino phase and this one just hits the spot. Campos coffee almost never disappoints.

I basically take care of the ordering as I've studied almost every single review ever written about Copo. It's the baked eggs with fried potato, chorizo, chimichurri and toast ($18.90) for Zen, and the bubble & squeak with fried egg, Barossa Valley speck, cabbage, peas, potato and toast ($16.90) for me.

The baked eggs are exactly what I thought it would be. Hearty, but not heavy, with a scrumptious depth of flavour.

Plus, chimichurri served with breakfast feels like a holiday!

My bubble & squeak arrives in a loose format, much to my surprise. Nonetheless, it is every bit magnificent. It must be one of the most decadent versions of bubble & squeak I've ever had! I love the smokey flavours of the speck, the crispness of the potaotes and cabbage, the sweetness of peas...

While I've been dearly missing all of my former local cafes, I'm very much looking forward to calling Copo my new local. OK, it's an entire suburb away, but still... I'm sure they'll be seeing lots of me in the coming weeks.

Hopefully I get a seat indoors next time!
