I've always been very fond of markets - flea markets where one man's trash is another man's treasure, farmers markets where one can meet the most passionate producers and growers, and of course, who doesn't love a good craft market!
A market which I always make sure I visit every time I'm in Tassie, is Salamanca Market.
I absolutely adore the vibrancy of the fresh produce grown by the Hmong community, and the abundance of all things Tassie-made! My haul from Salamanca Market back in October (I'm working through my blog backlog!) included jams, chutneys, honeys, native stone jewellery, Huon pine tablewares, cheeses and even baked treats.
I felt quite proud lugging all of that onboard as carry-on luggage! That's the beauty about travelling to Tassie from Sydney... It's far enough to feel like you've travelled to another country, but close enough that you're able to transport fresh food through customs with no hassles!
Enjoy my photo diary -

Salamanca Market is a favourite amongst all
Salamanca Market is located between the lawns and historic buildings of Salamanca Place, near Hobart's picturesque waterfront, a five-minute walk from the city centre. The Market operates all year long every Saturday from 8:30am to 3:00pm, rain or shine.

I LOVED the Salamanca Markets when I was there in December...we STILL have a stash of Tassie chocolate from there in the fridge.
I cant wait to go to Tassie! That pink candy lady looks awesome :)
These are one of the best markets you can go to any where, I love them. It is very hard not to buy everything and then have to lug it ALL HOME!
Love farmers market.. Fresh produce..
