There's so much to love about this relatively new addition to Glebe - the stunning Provençal decor, the aroma of just baked goodies, the baskets and wooden shelves of breads and rustic baguettes and the stunning display of delectable tarts, meringues and pastries.
Stepping into La Banette Patisserie Boulangerie is exactly like stepping into France, and to complete the scene, as I'm savouring a ratatouille quiche... two pigeons wander in. How Parisian!



On a different day, I also grab the strawberry mille feuille and almond meringue to takeaway.
This is what the mille feuille looked like after surviving a short bus ride home -

The meringue was a better travel companion and barely crumbled during the journey. The fabulous nutty crunch served as an indulgent afternoon treat that day.


How exciting that I have Victorie and Zumbo in walking distance and a foodie haven like La Banette just a short bus trip away.
