My posts from Japan are starting to drag on now so i'm going to post at least once a day until they're all done! Now, on to waffles... mmmm... waffles.

Waffle Waffle is a chain of dessert cafes in Japan which couple Belgian-style waffles with imaginative fruit combinations.

Like with all things Japanese, the food displays were irresistible!

Each flavour was as appetising and creative as the next. Here are some examples -
  • Muscat of Alexandria, Pear and Kiwi
  • Milk Tea and Compote of Strawberry
  • Green Tea, Milk and Tokachi Azuki
  • Mango, Blood Orange and Griotte Cherry
  • Hassaku Orange, Yoghurt Cream and Tomatoberry Jelly

I love that the menu even features cute cut-section diagrams of the breakdown of flavours so you exactly know the proportion and location of each ingredient! Clever huh?

The waffles vary from ¥150 to ¥231 each and take-home packs of 6 or 10 are available.

Feeling the need for a quick sweet treat, I grabbed the Tea and Apple flavour (which features Darjeeling & Earl Grey) take away during one of the days. They're designed to travel well and packaging includes a mini ice pack.

The texture of the waffles were more of a light fluffy cake as it lacked the fresh baked crispness of Belgian waffles but the filling - oh my - was divine. It was so refreshing! Wish I had tried more flavours but there's always next time!

Oh my! I MUST go there. The flavours sound amazing!

Yay, do it! They have seasonal variations too so there's always something new!

This is exactly why I need to go to Japan! If only it wasn't for my horrible fear of air travel.

Awww... Can you take a sleeping pill during the flight?!?

Must go to Japan... Must go to Japan... Must go to Japan... Oh I'll just have to keep dreaming... and living vicariously through food blogs =D For the time being anyway

is this waffle frozen or fridge temperature??? it wont melt after you leave it on room temperature?

It's refrigerated and comes with an ice-pack when bought so keeps it relatively cool. I suppose it wouldn't be too tasty at room temperature
