Christina & Sunny's Wedding

Last Saturday was a pretty emotional day for me. It was on this special day that my little sis married her high school sweetheart! Because I was on maid of honour duties, i don't have pics of the official proceedings, but this post is a collection of some of my most memorable snapshots from the day.

The morning started with hair and make-up at 4am (sorry, no before and after shots, LOL!), followed by a series of Chinese tradition.

There were boxes of wedding sweets ordered from Vinh Quang Cake Shop, glutinous rice dumplings in a sweet ginger syrup, and lots of betrothal gifts from the groom's family including a whole roast suckling pig and bundles of other delicacies.

This is us on the way to the groom's parent's place for the second part of the tea ceremony -

Then off we went to Fort Street High School, where the newly weds met.

Here is me walking down the aisle and the next pic is of my Dad & sister:

It was a ceremony like no other. Absolutely gorgeous in every way; especially the flowers, which the bride did all by herself!

More photos - the bridesmaids and I infront of the stretch Hummer, a shot of my sister & I and one of the boy & I.

The night before the big day, the bridesmaids had helped me prepare a selection of sandwiches and some fruit platters for a bridal party picnic after the ceremony. The rain eventually dampened our plans but it was beautiful for the ten or so minutes.

The reception was held at L'Aqua in Darling Harbour and timed perfectly with the Harbourside Fireworks! It was the closest I've ever been to fireworks and I wish I had my camera with me to capture the moment.

And here are a couple of pics of the stunning bride, wearing the Madelyn bridal gown by Maggie Sottero. I love tulle!

Soon, the room started to fill with guests; canapes were circulating and drinks were flowing.

Guests received bomboniere boxes of Belle Fleur chocolates and were served alternate entrées, mains and desserts.

The bridal party got to make their selections beforehand, so I start with the 'Truffles of the Sea', a platter of Sydney rock oysters, smoked salmon, prawns and crab.

My main course was grilled high country pork loin chop in a hoisin butter sauce, paired with caramelised pineapple and peppered potato plan and brocolini spears. The mahogany coloured sauce was sublime.

Dessert was poached pear and vanilla ice cream slice with chocolate sauce. Unfortunately, I had to scoff this down quick to give my speech.

The bottom tier of the wedding cake was a lusciously moist caramel mud cake. I naturally had extra serves of this :)

Oh, and here's a progress shot of how cute my kid brother, Bryan, has grown up to be!

Congratulations my dearest sister, Christina and her dashing groom, my new brother, Sunny. I wish you guys the very best happily ever after a girl could ever dream of! xoxo

Wow - they married at their high school.... I met my partner at our school in Newcastle, would be hilarious to get married there!

They had to get special permission and I think insurance or something, but I didn't realise how photogenic their school was! It'll definitely be a memorable location if you do! ;)
