Commercialised events such as Valentines Day or Christmas In July are the perfect excuse for a wee bit of indulgent eating. I don't really care for either but I'll always welcome a celebratory meal.
If you're after a restaurant which takes 'Christmas in July' seriously or if you just want a hearty winter feast, then Lowenbrau Keller is worth checking out.
As guests of Lowenbrau Keller and Zing PR, Helen, Suze, Lisa, Karen, Squishies and I were recently invited to a sneak peek at their Christmas in July menu.
Throughout this month, weekly delicacies will be on offer, including venison or slow roast short ribs in the first week, braised lamb shanks or wine marinated beef roast in the second week, Franziskaner bier goulash or simmered veal cheeks in the third week and turkey schnitzel or stuffed capsicum with pork and herbs in the last week; plus other festive specials.
In true food-blogger style, we were naturally fed almost all these dishes in the one night!
I think the pictures speak for themselves -

wow look at that schnapps paddle. that's sure to keep you warm in winter :-)
hehe, had too many rounds of those!
I think I would be happy with just the Mushroom soup with garlic bread. All the rest just looks like bonus food.
You're one of the few men who would prefer soup over meat, LOL! The soup was amazing though... It'd been too long since my last creamy mushroom soup!
Oh my - how wonderful!!! We just did a Christmas in July at home :)
Schnapps! :)
mmm schnapps makes me happy :D
How good looking is that venison? (I'm a big fan of venison, just don't really cook it).
