Al Sofra, Auburn

Although I've been a long-time loyal customer of Al Sofra, this was my first time back in a while and my fave kebabs seem to have disappeared with the management change. The prices are still the same; here's the chicken plate ($9) with chilli, onion and tomato salad and rice. Not to mention the extremely long wait, but instead of a charcoal grilled chilli, there were chilli flakes; the serving size must have halved and the salad desperately needed lemon and sumac. Hmm, the bread to chicken ratio was way off as well. I left feeling a little hungry and greatly disappointed.

Ashfield "Metro 1" on liverpool rd, just down the road from Shanghai Nights has fantastic pide. I always order their Chicken Pide with mushrooms, and their Supreme Pizza. They don't do the charcoal grilled stuff, but make fantastic kebabs.

without a doubt SABBABA !!! they are at Bondi, All the celebs eat there when in town. cheap, fresh and the best tasting chicken kebabs in home made bread. yummmmmmm...was just there!!!

You have to try out impress cafe for sure. Its on queen street auburn across the council. Been awarded best cafe/takeaway in thr local business awards two years in a row. They do great char grills and coffee. Happy faces work there aswell. Give them before but better to book ahead as they do get busy during lunch.
