On Saturday 17th November, Zen's sister, Lily got married to Simon. What turned out to be a warm sunny day, commenced at 8am with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony at both parents' residence... then we drove off to St Andrew's Anglican Church at Summer Hill where they were pronounced husband & wife. The big day ended at Maxims Reception at Bankstown... with live music and a delectable banquet... it was a gorgeous evening indeed.

Congratulations again, Simon & Lily.

Your wedding day is undoubtedly one of the most special days of your life. Make it special for your guests as well by giving away wedding cookies that speak about you and your beloved personally. Here are a few tips for personalized wedding favors .

Hi there,

Just wanted to find out from you, do you recommend having weddings @ Maxims? Was the quality of food good? Or are there any other places you might recommend? :) Thanks!!

I love your dress, its cute where did you get it from?

Yeah I want to know if maxim was any good too, my best friend is considering having her wedding there.

Hi Liv - I thought the food @ Maxims was really good! I was pretty surprised because there were 3 other weddings held there in different rooms on the same night... but every dish was delicious. I especially loved the suckling pig cold dish and the crab claws... ooo, it was nothing like those small cheap ones you find at buffets and fish & chip shops! There were big flakes of crab meat with a hint of braised ginger. mMmMM...

I'm afraid I don't have any other places to recommend as I haven't been to many weddings... (the ones I attended as a little girl don't count!) I'll be going to another one tomorrow night, so I'll let you know if it stands out!

Hi Mongie - Thank you! The dress is by Wish. It was such a bargain with an extra 25% off from Myer. I couldn't afford the Alannah Hill dress I wanted since I haven't been working... hehehe...

And with Maxims, Simon & Lily's wedding was pretty self-run... the guys in the band were their friends, etc... food-wise, it was lovely... I was so full towards the end I barely touched the fried rice and noodles (didn't want to break out of the dress!)... the atmosphere was your typical Chinese wedding with the tables being a little too crowded... but otherwise it's a pretty good place :-)
