Sushi Tengoku, Kensington

Lesson learnt: always order what the restaurant specialises in. I don't know what drove me into order tempura and teriyaki chicken at a place named Sushi Tengoku. It could have been the cold windy wet weather... or maybe it was Zen...

So after a late night at uni, Zen and I decided to stop by this small neon-lit restaurant, which we'd always driven past. Sushi Tengoku was packed with local "honkie" families. As soon as you enter, you're exposed to a fresh but fishy scent. I sat on the only available table, and waited for it to be cleaned whilst listening to everyone's conversations about food. Every table seemed to prize what they had ordered... fresh sashimi, and sushi of every sort... mMm...

Overall, the sushi was amazing... and is probably the only thing you should order. It's all extremely fresh, well-priced and offers a vast variety of fresh seafood and sashimi. I'll definately pass on the hot food next time round.

I LOOOOOOOOVE this place with a passion!!!!!Sushi lovers its the place to go....and if you think that sushi train at bondi junction is your number one...try sushi tengoku.....and it will replace it......great family business....but remember you dont go there for service or posh interior you go the for the foood!!!!!

Hi Yulia - Thanks for reminding me about this place! It's been on my to-do list to revisit for some real sushi :-)

Its our local and it means Sushi Heaven ... need i say more!!
Its so packed on this drizzly rainy night we can't get a seat for 2 hours!

Ok, I just had dinner at Sushi Tengoku, first impression mm... the place is dodgy, I ordered some nigiri sushi like salmon, tuna, octopus, etc. The sushi is ridiculously big, looks disgusting, such a waste because the fish is fresh (except the octopus sushi so fishy and yucky), it's better they reduce the price of the sushi but make the right size of sushi. Maybe for some people don't understand my comment, Please have a try Sakanaya or Fuuki at Crown Nest, a bit pricey but the size and quality of their nigiri sushi is 100x better than sushi Tengoku. In conclusion, No 2nd time for Sushi Tengoku.

Sushi Tengoku is delicious! The sushi is big but its really fresh and tasty, you get what you pay for and thats quality sushi. We are definalelty going back again. This will become a regular eating spot, highly recommended for suhsi lovers. Yummmm! Soft shell crab was delectable, vegetable roll had a great combination of fresh vegetables. Everything was fantastic!
